At CCCOAD, we organize our efforts through specialized workgroups, each focusing on a critical area of disaster management. Together, these workgroups ensure Curry County is prepared to face any emergency, building a resilient community for all.
Our currently active work groups, led by dedicated individuals from member agencies, are at the forefront of our efforts. These subcommittees work diligently to address critical areas such as preparedness, response coordination, resource management, community outreach, and recovery initiatives. Through their expertise and collective commitment, they contribute to the development of innovative strategies and initiatives that make a real difference in our community's ability to withstand and recover from disasters.

1. Emergency Preparedness and Training Work Group
Purpose: Equip the community with the knowledge and skills needed to handle disasters effectively.
Highlights:
Organizes community-wide disaster preparedness workshops and drills.
Develops customized training for families, schools, and businesses.
Provides certifications in first aid, CPR, and emergency response.
Coordinates neighborhood-specific emergency plans.
2. Resource Management and Logistics Work Group
Purpose: Ensure adequate supplies, equipment, and infrastructure for disaster response.
Highlights:
Maintains an inventory of essential supplies and equipment.
Partners with local businesses and non-profits for donations.
Manages logistics for resource distribution and infrastructure maintenance.
Conducts regular audits to ensure readiness.
3. Supply Distribution Work Group
Purpose: Ensure the equitable distribution of food, water, and essential supplies.
Highlights:
Establishes and manages supply distribution hubs.
Develops real-time tracking systems for supply needs during disasters.
Collaborates with local grocery stores, farmers, and donors to maintain stock.
Designs equitable distribution plans prioritizing vulnerable populations.
4. Shelter Operations and Housing Work Group
Purpose: Provide safe, accessible shelters and housing solutions during emergencies.

Identifies and prepares emergency shelters in collaboration with schools and community centers.
Stocks shelters with culturally appropriate supplies, including traditional foods and medicines.
